Pentagon: accused China to care from concept of nuclear deterrence

Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Headquarters of the US Armed Forces General General John Heiten accused China to care from the concept of maintaining a nuclear arsenal at a minimum level. This is reported by TASS. The words of the commander sounded at a meeting with the Washington Group of Military Observers (Defense Writers Group).

Pentagon believes that China is not only the development of advanced hypersonic weapons, but also builds intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBR) “such as mine basing and mobile complexes”, places them on bombers and submarines.

“When you look at this structure, then [you understand that] it is not a minimum deterrence potential. Such funds are not needed with the minimum deterrence potential,” said General. He also noted that as a military officer considers meaningless discussion of the principle of non-use of nuclear weapons first. The meaning, according to the military man holder, has only the real combat potential of the state.

“All hypersonic weapons that they create (…) are designed for the United States. We must proceed from this, building plans on the basis of this, be ready for this,” added Hajiten.

Previously, the British newspaper Financial Times stated that in the summer of 2021, the PRC held two tests of hypersonic weapons. As a result of one of them, launched into space of a warhead, according to the publication, could overcome a low-bit space and flying the globe. Test results struck the intelligence community of the United States.

On October 18, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Zhao Lijian rejected these accusations, saying that the PRC conducted tests of various types of technology of reusable spacecraft.
