The National Personal Data Protection Center will appear in Belarus, the corresponding decree signed President Alexander Lukashenko, reported on its website.
Lukashenko established the center by Decree No. 422 “On measures to improve the protection of personal data”, which signed on October 28. It is assumed that the innovation will protect the rights of citizens: improve the level of protection of personal data in the republic and will ensure better implementation of the constitutional right of citizens to protect against illegal interference in privacy.
In particular, the Center has the right to verify compliance with the legislation on personal data, to make written requirements for eliminating the identified violations, as well as to require the termination of personal data processing, if it is impossible to ensure the protection of the rights of citizens.
In addition, additional measures have been introduced within the framework of the decree providing personal data protection. Thus, persons working in the field of personal data protection will have to undergo special training. In addition, the country has become necessary regard to information to be treated by government agencies and other organizations.
Earlier in the Belarusian state-owned officers were caught in promoting extremists. It is noted that they transferred personal data more than 150 persons from among civil servants.
