In Russia, oilseed processors have encountered difficulties in procurement of raw materials due to the actions of agricultural producers, which restrain sales for artificially overestimation of prices. This opinion was expressed by Mikhail Maltsev, director Mikhail Maltsev, reports Interfax.
“Agricultural producers unreasonably” accelerate “prices, selling only small parties,” said the problems arising from the production of Maltsev. The head of the Union warned agricultural producers from attempts to manipulate the market, as this can turn into “serious losses” for them.
The crop of major oilseeds this year will reach “unprecedented” 23 million tons, and export volumes will grow almost twice compared with the indicators of five years ago – up to 10 million tons, Maltsev told. “We see the most impressive growth in segments of vegetable oils and shrots – there is a magnification of 28 and 25 percent, respectively,” said Maltsev. He called the reason for growth, in particular, the introduction of export duty to sunflower, RAPS and Soyu. These measures have increased the download of processing enterprises within the country and raised the investment attractiveness of the industry as a whole.
In early October, the Ministry of Finance announced a sharp rise in price of food. Prices for sugar (plus 38.1 percent), sunflower oil (plus 27.3 percent) and eggs (plus 15.4 percent) have grown. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the reasons were the situation in foreign markets and post-crisis volatility.
