Lithuania asked China not to annoy

Beijing should not be annoyed due to decisions taken by Vilnius. About this Lithuanian president of guitanas housing said at a meeting with a delegation of Taiwanese politicians and entrepreneurs, writes Delfi.

Commenting on the opening plans in Vilnius representative offices of Taiwan, he stressed that Lithuania adheres to the policies of one China and intends to develop cultural and economic ties with the regions and states with which it considers it necessary.

In this case, huge asked the Chinese authorities not to make decisions of the Lithuanian side “so annoyed” and reminded them of demarches that were previously taken by Beijing in relation to Vilnius.

The relationship of Lithuania and China aggravated this summer. In August, the Lithuanian authorities gave official consent to the opening of the Taiwan representative office, in response to this in the PRC expressed a decisive protest. In Beijing, also decided to withdraw its ambassador from Vilnius and turned to Lithuanian colleagues with a request to withdraw their representative from China that Lithuania and did on September 3.

PRC does not control Taiwan since 1949, when after losing in the Civil War, representatives of the Gomindan party moved there. At the same time, the Chinese authorities continue to consider the island of their territory.
