More than 1000 high-pressure cylinders have installed on East

The installation of the storage system and the issuance of compressed gases continues on the cosmodrome to prepare the Angara family launch. Massive cylinders weighing more than 4 tons and over 6 meters long are designed to receive, storing and issuing air, nitrogen and helium. To this point, 1188 cylinders have already been installed on the cosmodrome.

Installation of cylinders is planned to be completed by the end of 2021. After that, the specialists of the center of exploitation of the objects of ground-based space infrastructure (included in the state corporation “Roscosmos”) with the involvement of contracting organizations plan to begin the strapping of cylinders with technological pipelines. The following stage will be a test complex: cleaning, purge, testing tests and tightness.

The massive high-pressure cylinders began to arrive at the East Cosmodrome from July 6, 2020. The first parties were aimed at the retrofitting of the Soyuz-2 technical complex systems, which will subsequently provide inspection of the Angara-A5 launch vehicle during assembly and testing. The main scope of work to ensure the start of space missiles is carried out on the starting complex of the Angara launch vehicle.
