The fifth package of sanctions of the European Union (EU) regarding the regime of the Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko will be directed against persons and companies involved in the organization of illegal migration from the countries of the Middle East to Europe. Details of new restrictions revealed in a conversation with Deutsche Welle EU ambassador to Belarus Dirk Syubel.
According to him, the issue of introducing restrictions on the Belarusian state air carrier “Belavia” and the import of potash fertilizers is also considered in Brussels. At the same time, the diplomat stressed that there is already a lot depends on the actions of the Belarusian authorities.
“If political prisoners are not liberated, if violence against civilians continue, then all options are possible,” said the jelly. The EU Ambassador added that Western countries are greatly concerned about the situation with violation of the rights of Belarusians and hope to end the persecution of citizens, including through sanctions.
October 26 in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany revealed the scheme of the “Belarusian transit” of refugees in the EU. Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated that the “transportation” of migrants across the border of Belarus with the countries of the European Union, which is actually engaged in Minsk, is a hybrid threat to the European Community. Prior to this, EU leaders agreed on a package of new sanctions against the Government of Belarus due to the situation with migrants.
