In Tajikistan, they boasted almost complete vaccination of residents of Dushanbe from COVID-19. This was told by the head of the department of sanitary and epidemiological safety, emergency situations and emergency medical care of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Navruz Jafarov, writes “Sputnik Tajikistan”.
According to him, over 93 percent of the residents of the Tajik capital received both components of the coronavirus vaccine, and the entire population of the city has already made the first vaccination.
Jafarov also noted that more than 2.13 million people (36.6 percent of the country’s citizens) were completely vaccinated across Tajikistan. The first dose of vaccine received 2.72 million inhabitants (45.9 percent).
In January, Tajikistan President Emomali Rakhmon stated a complete victory over the spread of coronavirus in the republic and the total destruction of the causative agent of the disease in its territory. A few months later, in July, the Tajik authorities introduced a mandatory vaccination against COVID-19 for the entire adult population of the country over 18 years.
