Martinique’s health unions, which are mobilized against the establishment of the health care, will have to free the access of the CHU, with a penalty of 500 euros per day, ordered the judicial tribunal of Fort-de- France, Monday, October 18th.

The healthcare has been mandatory on the island since October 11 for the Visitors and employees of the CHU, but an inter-union composed of five organizations opposes the entry into force of this provision by disrupting the control operations .

On 14 October, the management of the CHU of Martinique assigned in reference five trade unions for “obstruction in the establishment of a legal obligation” and “a serious attack on the health and safety of the staff and users “.

“We have attended the bailiff in threats, intimidations, insults, pressure at all kinds that prevent the continuity of the public health service and to ensure security,” said The France-Press agency (AFP), the CHU M E Pascale Berté.

Excess power recourse

In parallel the unions have filed an excess of power appeal with the administrative court, which will soon make its decision.

“We have lost nothing, we will be in front of the administrative court to denounce this health care that hampers labor law, which hampers social dialogue, which hinders peace and health,” said AFP. , M e Georges-Emmanuel Germany, the union lawyer.

A hundred protesters dressed in T-shirts and white blouses were waiting before the judicial court their lawyer who came to read the deliberation. A little earlier in the day, about 800 people, according to the police, had collected peacefully for a sit-in in front of the CHU, all in a white t-shirt, to denounce the pursuit of the controls of sanitary passes.

An extraordinary meeting is scheduled for Tuesday to address the violence that occurred at CHU last Friday, during which three people had been arrested. More than 600 caregivers have already exercised their right of withdrawal.
