In Russia, a record increase in prices for oatmeal flakes was recorded, Rosstat stated. In August, Hercules went up in a retail to 80.5 rubles per kilogram, and in September, the cost rose again – to 80.9 rubles. It is reported by RBC.
The price overcame the bar in 80 rubles for the first time since 2000. Moreover, not only the Hercules itself, but also oatmeal in stores, including fast food flakes – up to 94 rubles per kilogram, pointed out in the GFK research company. As the representative of the trading network “Ribbon” specified, in 2021, suppliers raised prices for oatmeal within 20 percent, compared with the prices of last year.
In Russia, prices for buckwheat also increased. One of the reasons was drought in the regions of the Volga region and the Urals. At the same time, according to the national union of agricultural machinery (NSA), there are no objective reasons for the deficit of buckwar in the country. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) also stressed that “FAS Russia does not see signs of a shortage of buckwheat cereals.”
Earlier in October, the Ministry of Agriculture assured that the deficit of products in the domestic market will not be. In the department also promised to prevent the lack of vegetables to provide them with Russians in the required volume. To stabilize prices for vegetables, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Industry will carry out work on the transition of trading networks to direct contracts with manufacturers.
