According to him, Russia plays with Germany “in a kind of play poker.” “But this is a foreign policy issue that the existing German government can discuss at least,” the German politician emphasized.
At the same time, Habek noted that the Northern Stream-2 project could not yet obtain permission to operate due to European regulations, in particular the improved EU gas directive.
Earlier, the Russian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Andrei Kelin said that the final resolution from Germany is the last step towards the launch of the North Stream-2 gas pipeline. The diplomat stressed that the gas pipeline is fully ready for use, only the decision of the German authorities is needed.
