In the United States, problems arose with the settlement of the country evacuated Afghans. It is reported by The Wall Street Journal with reference to Pentagon and Volunteers.
One of the representatives of the military department said that due to bureaucratic formalities, the lack of suitable housing and the need for vaccination, the process was significantly delayed. It is noted that it was originally assumed to send Afghans to new accommodation places before the end of the year or even before. Now, according to the source of the American newspaper, Afghans expect to post until March 2022.
Currently, more than 50 thousand Afghans are located at eight American military bases. The process of their placement around the country also makes it difficult to make the fact that officially evacuated residents of Afghanistan cannot qualify as refugees.
Earlier it was reported that hundreds of refugees from Afghanistan left military bases in several US states, where they were temporarily placed after evacuation, without waiting for the design of the necessary migration documents. According to Reuters, at least 700 Afghans left the camps without documents, and their number continues to grow. At the same time, the US authorities for a long time did not advertise this problem, because of which the situation was only aggravated.
