Following the first complaint, the parquet of Paris opened on 28 September an investigation for “rape per person having authoritative on minor over 15”. The investigations were initially entrusted to the minor protection brigade (BPM). After a second complaint received on September 30, the Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office has expanded this investigation to the offense of “Rape in Meeting” and the investigations were taken up by 2 e Judicial District (2 e dpj).

According to his lawyer, the professor “learned by the press that complaints were filed against him for rape, vaginal and rectal touches without consent, brutal gestures and acts of verbal and psychological abuses”. “While his name is thrown into a pasture without the slightest reserve, he ignores all the facts of which we are at the cover of the anonymity of those who denounce them,” adds M e jakubowicz.
Following several testimonials from old patients, the AP-HP and Sorbonne University launched on 20 September an internal investigation. The two institutions announced Friday to have “trough with Professor Emile Daraï his withdrawal of his responsibilities as head of department and pedagogical manager” so that “this investigation can unfold in the greatest serenity”. “The situation of Professor Emile Darai will be reviewed in the light of the conclusions of the” expected “internal investigation before the end of October 2021,” they added.

His “professional skills and [his] involvement for the cause of women, especially in the national college of French gynecologists and obstetricians, have been recognized for more than thirty-five years,” recalls his lawyer.
