President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zaparov signed the law “On the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic”, significantly expanding its powers. This is reported by the press service of the head of state.
According to the document, Zhaparov will be able to dismiss on its own initiative of the Prime Minister and members of the Cabinet of Ministers. In addition, the law provides for the grounds, upon the occurrence of which a member of the government can be exempted from his position.
Also, some restrictions are established for members of the Cinema. In particular, they cannot engage in entrepreneurship and use the administrative resource during electoral companies.
Earlier, the head of the Constitutional Meeting Bekbosun Borubashev said that the authorities intend to move from the parliamentary-presidential to the presidential form of the board, so the president must take more responsibility. He noted that the project developers wanted to correct the situation when the government was liable for decisions of the presidential office.
Zaparov himself argued that the parliamentary-presidential form of government before in Kyrgyzstan became the main cause of mass riots and led to the change of power in the republic in October 2020. In May, the head of state signed a new constitution.
The new basic law provides for the transition to the presidential form of the Board and a number of other changes related to the organization of the system of power in the republic, including a reduction in the number of parliamentary deputies from the current 120 to 90.
