Shares of largest mine of Russia soared

Shares of the coal company “Raspadskaya” took off 5.9 percent during the trading on the Moscow Stock Exchange on Monday, October 11. At a peak at 14:38 Moscow time MSCs rose to 418.66 rubles per piece, at 14:40 they traded 416.5 rubles (plus 5.69 percent).

The papers of the company rose on the news about increasing the net profit of the Raspadskaya 55 times – up to 43 billion rubles – for the first nine months of 2021 compared to the same period last year.

August 20 shares of Raspadskaya increased by almost 40 percent per day after the news increasing profit by almost 70 percent per year, up to 181 million dollars. At the end of September, the company paid dividends to shareholders in the amount of 23 rubles per share (yield – 5.66 percent). Raspadskaya OJSC manages the largest coal mines in Russia, located in the Kemerovo region.

In recent months, the global coal shortage has emerged due to the closure in China coal mines and sharp rise in gas prices. In early October, in Germany, the electricity producer Steag stopped the work of the Bergkamen-A power station after her coal stocks ended. The company explained the lack of coal with high demand for it and the rise in price of the barge transportation.
