Gas price in Europe collapsed

The gas price of gas in Europe collapsed below $ 1,000 per thousand cubic meters. This is evidenced by the data of the London Stock Exchange ICE. At the opening of trading on Monday, October 11, the cost of November gas futures on the Dutch Index TTF was $ 995.5 per thousand cubic meters, which is 5.3 percent lower than on the closure of trading on Friday.

Gas and electricity prices took off to record values due to the approach of the winter heating season. Because of the huge prices, many industrial giants have reduced production, and the growing accounts of citizens for electricity strengthened public anxiety. For several weeks in September and early October, the cost of gas in Europe continuously grew, setting several records. October 6, the fuel was worth 1924 dollars per thousand cubic meters.

However, during the trading session, on October 6, the quotations quote sharply. The Financial Times newspaper has connected such a dynamic with the statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the readiness of Moscow to stabilize energy prices in Europe.

For its part, the EUPECA commission found a way to cope with high fuel prices. The agency wondered about the possibility of joint procurement and storage of natural gas by national governments
