Hundreds of people opposed Saturday night at the police in the center of Rome, devastating, among other things, the headquarters of the CGIL, the main union confederation of the country.

Many members of a Ultradroite Group, Forza Nuova, two of which were arrested on Sunday, October 10, after the violent clashes that followed an anti-planning manifestation Saturday in Rome.
Multi-hundred people opposed Saturday night at the police in the center of Rome, devastating among others, the headquarters of the CGIL (left), the main trade union confederation of the country. The police forces used water guns and tear gas to disperse protesters, during clashes that lasted several hours.
“The assault on the National Headquarters of the CGIL were quickly arrested. For too long they were acting to feed tensions and violence,” welcomed the member Federico Fornaro.
Senator Andrea Marcucci has addressed:
“Fascist violence must be stopped immediately. All democratic forces are today with the CGIL and the police forces.”
According to the media, twelve people were arrested, including Roberto Fiore, National Secretary of Forza Nuova, and Giuliano Castellino, responsible for this movement in Rome.
The dissolution of this movement claimed
Forza Nuova is a neofascist ultradroite party created in 1997 whose program provides, inter alia, the prohibition of abortion, the judgment of immigration or the repeal of the laws punishing the incentive to the Hate for political, race or religion reasons. To the various polls he has appeared alone or in coalition with other ultradroite groups, he has never reached the 0.5% of the votes.
Many voices, mainly from the center and the left, have risen to claim the dissolution of this movement. Emanuele Fiano, Member of the Chairman of the Democratic Party Deputies (PD, Left Center), said:
“It’s enough with the violence of neofascist groups. We will present tomorrow (…) an urgent motion to the Parliament claiming the government’s dissolution of Forza Nuova.”
Several other elected officials and ministers of the Mario Draghi government are on the same position. The boss of the CGIL, Maurizio Landini, speaking in front of the devastated headquarters of the union, also claimed the dissolution of Forza Nuova and announced a great anti-phase demonstration for Saturday, October 16th. “They can not intimidate us, they do not scare us,” he launched to people who came to express their solidarity.
