Scientists appreciated version of origin of Covid-19 due to mutations in Shakhtar body

Infectnessist, Doctor of Medical Sciences Nikolay Malyshev appreciated the theory that Coronavirus could evolve from an infection found from a Chinese miner who infected in 2012. It is reported by RBC.

According to him, this version is doubtful. “I am skeptical about it. For scientists, it is important to stamp one or another topic, express your hypothesis. If it is confirmed – well, it will not be confirmed – they will say, it was a preliminary version,” the scientist noted. He added that such theories appear often.

Head of the laboratory of particularly dangerous infections of the Federal Research Center for Fundamental and Translation Medicine, Professor Virology Alexander Chepurnov, in turn, said that “to invent such stories is fairly easily, if a person understands the virology.”

According to a scientist, he divides the version of the origin of coronavirus infection into three types. The first type is the theory that COVID-19 appeared in nature and as a result of contact with a person he managed to penetrate the human population. The second is someone manipulated with the genome of the virus to make it more dangerous.

Chepurnov himself holds the third type of versions – that scientists wanted to check whether it is possible to adapt the virus to one or another. Thus, a variant that could infect a person appeared. “Someone from researchers could get infected and, without noticing this, to make an infection from the laboratory,” he added.

Previously, American scientists reported that Coronavirus could evolve from an infection found from a Chinese miner who infected in 2012. According to their data, in 2012, miners in Uhana sick ill like pneumonia, after contact with the litter of volatile mice in one of the caves. After that, Wuhan scientists found in the same place the traces of the coronavirus bats of Ratg13, which is 96 percent similar to COVID-19.
