The gas crisis in Europe emerged due to the fact that the countries of the European Union did not enter into long-term contracts for deliveries from Russia. About this on Saturday, October 9, President of Serbia, Alexander Vucich, said “Izvestia”.
In his opinion, this is the main cause of the crisis that has emerged now in European countries. He noted that this happened primarily due to the introduction of carbon duties and the lack of gas due to the fact that the “Chinese all liquefied gas redirected on themselves.”
In addition, some EU countries allowed their industry to use gas “at the lowest prices” during the COVID-19 pandemic. Leaders of European countries believed that they would achieve economic growth, but in the end everything turned out otherwise. Vucic explained that they actively took gas, but did not conclude agreements for a long time with Russia. In this regard, Europe remained without gas, and the prices “jumped” from 400 to 1.8 thousand dollars.
