Court of Fifth District of the United States on October 8, temporarily restored a ban on Texas abortion, reports ABC News.
Temporary decree will allow state residents to apply to the court on who, in their opinion, made an illegal abortion, as well as on who helped them. In case of success, the plaintiffs are also eligible for compensation in the amount of at least 10 thousand dollars. The US Department of Justice must submit an appeal to October 12.
Earlier, a federal judge of the District Court in Austin, Robert Pitman satisfied the request of the US President Joe Bayden and suspended the effect of the scandalous law until his legitimacy is disputed. However, supporters of the regulatory act questioned that the suspension of the action of the law applies to the right of citizens to go to court. The appellate instance considered objections justified.
The law entered into force on September 1, prohibits doctors to make abortions, as soon as they detect the palpitations of the fetus, which can be seen on the ultrasound after six weeks of pregnancy. It also applies to situations when pregnancy has occurred as a result of rape or incest. As the TV channel notes, this is the most rigid prohibitive law of this kind in the USA.
