A Federal Court of Appeal of New Orleans authorized, Friday, October 8, Texas to restore the controversial law prohibiting the majority of abortions in this US state.

This law, entered into force on the 1 September, forbidden to abort once that the heartbeat of the embryo are detected, or about six weeks of pregnancy, when most Women ignore be pregnant. She had been temporarily blocked, Wednesday by a Federal Texas judge, following a complaint from the biden government that has until Tuesday to act.

“Stop this madness”

The “Center for Reproductive Rights”, which represents several Texas abortion clinics, urged the Supreme Court of the United States to “intervene and stop this madness”.

“Patients are plunged into a state of chaos and fear,” said Nancy Northup, president of the organization.

Texas had about two dozen clinics practicing the voluntary pregnancy interruption before the entry into force of the law. All have not resumed their services within forty-eight hours during which the law was blocked, fear of a rapid turnover of justice.

The new law threatens Texas institutions practicing these abortions for prosecution by private citizens.
