Researchers from the United States have shown that the mechanoterapeutic massage quickly cleans damaged tissues from neurocils and the inflammatory cytokines allocated. This will accelerate the process of regeneration of muscle tissues. The article of scientists is published in the journal Science Translational Medicine.
Previously, researchers from Brownovsky and Harvard Universities have already revealed in experiments on mice that the mechanotherapy halvery accelerates the restoration of muscle tissues and prevents their scarring. To find out the mechanism of this useful effect and determine the parameters that allow it to maximize, scientists have developed a mechanoteherapeutic device that allows you to track and control the force attached to the limb.
The first experiments on the mice showed a positive effect – the application of power by the device made it possible to stretch the muscles by 10-40 percent. The 14-day course showed that the fabric was better sentenced with mehanotherapy than without it – and the greater there was power, the better. In such muscles was higher level of type IIX tissues, which allow producing more physical strength. Analysis of inflammation-related substances in tissues showed that in massageable tissues the level of cytokines associated with the movement of neutrophils – granulocytes, playing an important role in congenital immunite, was reduced. The content of the neutrophils themselves was also less – the analysis of fluorescent labels showed that the mechanoterapeutic massage “cleared” from them fabric.
In vitro experiment on muscle predecessors showed that in the medium where neutrophils grew up, the number of first increased, but the speed of their differentiation was reduced – which indicates a negative effect of a long presence in them neutrophils.
