According to the diplomat, the situation has entered so far due to the “whole series of unilateral measures from Brussels.” “If you take a whole relationship between Russia and the European Union, then they can be called seven-year missed opportunities,” said the Foreign Minister.
Lavrov stressed that the only constructive proposal voiced by Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron about holding an urgent summit between Russia and the EU, “lost in the devils of absurdly absurd logic.” The EU considered the summit “almost a gift” for Moscow.
“We are not needed gifts, we are not waiting for them and not for the sake of this we exist and work, and we do not build overestimated expectations. We understand that today’s situation has come too far away, and it will not be able to reverse it with anyone overnight” , – Lavrov said.
However, the diplomat indicated that Russia does not wish to exacerbate the situation and considers it important to refrain from bringing irritants and negative factors. “Ideally, we, of course, want to find the point of contact in those areas where our interests coincide,” the Lavrov concluded.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister spoke about the promotion of the dialogue with EMA on the registration of the Russian Satellite Vaccine. He stressed that the Russian side is interested in restoring regular contacts with the European Union, including in the health sector.
