PC users based on AMD processors complained to reduce performance after upgrading to Windows 11. This is reported by ZDNet edition.
According to the owners of computers based on AMD processors, after the update to the new version of the Microsoft OS, they noticed the reduction in the power of their PCs. As specialists noted, productivity may deteriorate about 15 percent and will be especially noticeable in games.
AMD representatives confirmed the availability of problems with their processors. “The expected effect of OS on performance in affected applications will be three or five percent, and in games commonly used for cybersports – 10-15 percent,” the company noted. It also became known that the update negatively affects EPYC and Ryzen lines chips. AMD technical experts say that the update is already being prepared, which will correct the problem. Its exit will take place until the end of October.
“AMD and Microsoft are actively exploring these well-known problems to solve using software updates,” the company is specified.
Earlier, enthusiasts noted that the Windows 11 protective component contributes to a slowdown in PC performance. This is a systemic add-in Virtualization-Based Security, which can reduce performance in games up to 30 percent.
