Poland declared shooting from Belarus

Patrol of Belarusian border guards opened shooting towards representatives of the border service and military Poland. On Friday, October 8, the official representative of the Border Guard of Poland Anna Mikhalskaya reported, RIA Novosti reports.

According to Mikhalskaya, the incident occurred on October 7, when Polish border guards, together with the military patrolled the border. Presumably, the shots were made by idle cartridges, clarified the representative of the border service.

At the same time, she noted that the shooting looked “believable.” Other details are not given.

In late September, Minister Coordinator of Poland Stanislav Zharin said that Belarusian border guards strengthened provocations to the Polish military against the background of exacerbation of the situation with illegal migrants in the Belarusian-Polish border. He complained that Belarusians shoot idle cartridges and mimic a pomegranate, and also insult Poles with “vulgar phrases” and accuse them to use fascist methods.

In early September, Poland introduced a state of emergency due to the migration crisis on the border of Belarus and the EU countries. In early October, the Polish authorities extended the effect of emergency in border areas. The situation with migrants on the Polish-Belorussian border was aggravated in May after the threats to the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, to weaken control over the flow of illegal immigrants and drug trafficking. At the same time, large groups of migrants from the countries of the Middle East and Africa began to storm the boundaries of Lithuania in search of asylum in European countries.
