Over the past day, Belarusian border guards did not use the weapon in any of the sections of the border of the state. About this on Friday, October 8, said RIA Novosti, the official representative of the State Promotion of Belarus Anton Bychkovsky in response to the accusations of shooting towards Poland.
“Border Guards Weapons were not applied on any directions,” said Bychkovsky.
Earlier in the Border Guard, Poland said that on October 7, the Patrol of Belarusian border guards opened the shooting towards representatives of the Polish border office and the military. They clarified there that, allegedly, the shots were made by idle cartridges, but the shooting looked “believable.”
At the end of September, Minister Coordinator of Poland’s special services Stanislav Zharin said that Belarusian border guards strengthened provocations to the Polish military against the background of exacerbation of the situation with illegal migrants. In particular, according to him, Belarusians were shot by idle cartridges, imitated the throwing of the grenade, and also insulted the Poles with “vulgar phrases”.
Since the beginning of September, due to the migration crisis on the border of Belarus and the EU countries in the border areas of Poland there is a state of emergency. The situation with migrants on the Polish-Belorussian border was aggravated in May after the threats to the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, to weaken control over the flow of illegal immigrants and drug trafficking. At the same time, large groups of migrants from the countries of the Middle East and Africa began to storm the boundaries of Lithuania in search of asylum in European countries.
