The European Union (EU) must force Belorussia to stop the flow of illegal migrants falling from the country to Poland. About this Polish president of Angey Duda spoke after talks with his Cypriot counterpart Nikos Anastasiadis, writes The Independent.
he noted that the situation on the border of Poland and Belarus “fully contradicts” international law, and accused the Belarusian authorities in “irresponsible behavior.” Duda also stressed that Warsaw does everything to prevent the dissemination of the migration crisis not all of Europe.
The head of state called on the European Union to take “concrete actions” so as not to allow Belarus to further “push” illegal them through its border into the territory of Poland. At the same time, Duda did not specify what kind of measures he expects from Brussels.
Earlier, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Poland Mariusha Kaminsky announced a terrorist threat that comes from illegal migrants detained on the border with Belarus. According to him, two thirds of them are exposed to “especially thorough checks”, and each fourth of the proven turns out to be a party to terrorist movements, including the Taliban and Islamic State (both organizations are prohibited in the territory of the Russian Federation).
The migration crisis on the border of the Belarusian and EU countries began in May, after the threats of the Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko, weaken the control over the streams of illegal immigrants against the background of the next exacerbation of relations with the West. In Poland and the Baltic countries accused Minsk in a special transfer of migrants to the border.
