In European Parliament were concerned about partnership of Russia and Belarus

The ongoing integration of Russia and Belarus is concerned about the European Parliament. This is stated in the draft resolution, which faction “Green – European Free Alliance” submitted for consideration by the legislative body of the European Union (EU), transfers RT.

In particular, the European Parliament was concerned about the “progressive militarization of Belarus and the region”, which threatens the “safety and stability of the European continent”, and regretted the decision of Minsk to get out of the EU Eastern Partnership Initiative.

European Parliamentary also reminded the elections of the President of Belarus in the summer of 2020. They called them “falsified” and drew attention to opposition protests, which were suppressed by the authorities with violence.

Deputies called on the Belarusian people to remove the head of the “illegal regime” of the head of the Republic of Alexander Lukashenko and noted the need to introduce a fifth package of sanctions, which will be directed against the sectors of the economy and companies, “supporting President of Belarus and its regime.”

At the end of June, Brussels introduced the fourth package of restrictive measures against Minsk. Under the sanctions hit 166 physical and 15 legal entities. Restrictions affected Belarus’s access to the EU financial markets, as well as trade in petroleum products, potash fertilizers and tobacco products.

The reason for the sanctions were the actions of the Belarusian authorities against opposition leaders, violence against protesters, as well as forced landing in Minsk Ryanair aircraft, on board which was subsequently detainees of the opposition telegram channel NEXTA Roman Protasevich.
