The new Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kisida first phoned with Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is reported by the Kyodo News Agency.

Earlier, the Russian leader congratulated Fumio Kisidu with election to the post of Prime Minister of Japan. In a directional congratulation, Putin noted that the development of constructive cooperation between Moscow and Tokyo meets the main interests of the two countries.

October 4, it became known that the Lower Chamber of the Japanese Parliament by a majority vote elected the Chairman of the Right Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan Kisidu to the position of new Prime Minister of the country. Thus, the politician became the hundredth Prime Minister of Japan. According to the results of the vote, he received 311 of 458 votes.
