Two European countries suspended moderna vaccination

Two European countries – Sweden and Denmark – suspended the use of the ModernA vaccine for young people.

As the Local writes, with reference to the Office of Health Denmark, the Denmark authorities stopped vaccinating the MODERNA vaccine against COVID-19 adolescents under 18. It is noted that this decision is made “as a precautionary measure.”

In turn, the Swedish authorities suspended vaccination against the COVID-19 drug from Moderna young people under the age of 30 due to the increased risk of such side effects, as the inflammation of the heart muscle or pericardia. In the Health Department, the country noted that the risk of this side effect is very small, writes Associated Press.

As stated by the main state epidemiologist of Sweden Anders Tegnell, the authorities “intently follow the situation and take immediate action” to ensure the safety and effectiveness of vaccination.

Earlier it was reported that in Japan found a batch of a coronavirus vaccine from ModernA with impurities in which there were stainless steel particles.

In August, the power of Japan suspended the use of about 1.63 million doses of the ModernA drug due to impurities.
