“It is still very early to say that the raising cycle is completed, and that we begin to consider the possibility of reducing the rate,” said the representative of the Central Bank. The keystore forecast added, it shows the return to this range in 2023.

Also tremols highly appreciated the likelihood of revision of the forecast for inflation for 2021. “According to the latest statistics, we see that here we are moving more than the upper limit here, so the revision of the forecast for inflation towards increasing is highly likely,” he noted.

Speaking about the influence of the ruble exchange rate, the representative of the Central Bank indicated that the ruble exchange rate is now there, where he was a year ago, and even became a little stronger. At the same time, he noted that, taking into account the entire inflation accumulated during this time, the Russian currency strengthened in real terms.

In early September, the Central Bank raised a key rate by 0.25 percentage points – up to 6.75 percent per annum. The increase was the fifth from March, similar decisions were made at all subsequent meetings. Following the Central Bank, Russian banks began to massively increase deposits rates.
