Fakes in Facebook and other social networks prevented the work of every sixth able-bodied Russian. It is reported by RBC with reference to the Superjob service study.
According to a survey, 68 percent of Russian residents have noticed malfunctions in the work of popular social networks and messengers who appeared on October 4. It is noted that the most Russians upset the problems with WhatsApp and Instagram. At the same time, according to the service, each ninth responded was pleased with the malfunctions of social networks.
Previously, the business development manager of the Angara group of companies specializing in information security, Anna Mikhailova said that a large-scale failure in the work of Facebook and other social networks cost the Russian economy about 70 million rubles per hour. Mikhalova indicated that the failure indirectly affected the entire Internet infrastructure. “Even communication operators in Russia felt a practically spontaneous DDoS attack from users trying to understand what was happening,” she said and added that the traffic inspection service traffic increased several times.
Failure in the work of the Facebook social network 4 October has become the most serious and long since 2008. Problems also affected Instagram, WhatsApp and other popular sites. Only six hours later, the service was restored. The cause of the failure was called updating the dynamic routing protocol.
