Australia declared Aukus’s readiness to cooperate with IAEA

Australian representative at a meeting of the First Committee of the UN General Assembly declared the readiness of the Aukus Alliance to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Her words report RIA Novosti.

According to her, the Alliance intends to “fully” interact with the agency over the next 18 months. She also added that Australia was also committed to their status of a state not possessing nuclear weapons, in accordance with the obligations under the non-proliferation agreement of nuclear weapons. “It did not change and will not change,” the diplomat concluded.

On September 16, USA, Britain and Australia concluded an agreement on the defense partnership, the Alliance was called Aukus (by country names). After that, Canberra ruined a contract with the French company Naval Group, which provided for the production of 12 impact submarines worth about $ 66 billion.

This action provoked an international scandal – in France the gesture was called a blow to the back and for the first time in history, they recalled their ambassador from the country. Against the background of the broken conflict, the European Union postponed negotiations on a free trade agreement with Australia.
