Scientists conducted a study and came to unexpected conclusions about the beneficial properties of caffeine. In their opinion, the regular use of coffee can reduce the risk of developing Parkinson’s disease. It is reported by the British Edition Express.
Parkinson’s disease is a condition in which parts of the brain are gradually damaged for many years. This is caused by the loss of nerve cells in part of the brain, called a black substance, which is responsible for the production of chemical dofamine. It acts as an intermediary between parts of the brain and nervous system, which help control the movements of the body. Violation of this communication causes problems with involuntary movements.
Researchers held a metaanalysis of literature on dozens of research, “scattering” electronic databases using terms associated with Parkinson’s disease, coffee and food caffeine products. Such scientific articles were added to the study only in case of compliance with the clear diagnostic criteria of the disease and information about the content of caffeine in them.
As a result, 13 works were allocated, nine of which were among the healthy people, and the rest – patients with Parkinson’s disease. “People among healthy who regularly used caffeine, the risk of developing this disease during the further evaluation was significantly lower,” the researchers emphasized.
Earlier, the main oncologist “SM-Clinic”, Alexander Seryakov said that coffee could alleviate the symptoms in patients with cancer. According to the doctor, it is only about natural coffee containing caffeine.
