The situation for women in Afghanistan after its capture by the militants of the radical movement “Taliban” (a terrorist organization forbidden in Russia) is terrible. This opinion was expressed by President of France Emmanuel Macron in an interview with France Interview.
“Many women who in recent years could have access to education, sports, art, suddenly saw how all the windows and doors are closed,” the politician noted. He stressed that the international community and, in particular, France has made every effort to help the female part of the population of Afghanistan and improve their position.
According to Macgron, while the Taliban guarantees young girls access to education, Paris does not recognize their regime. He called respect for the rights and freedoms of Afghan women and gender equality in the republic among the main conditions for the future recognition of the “Taliban” authorities.
September 20 reported that the Taliban ordered women engaged in positions that men can occupy, to be at home and not go to work. At the same time they promised to continue paying the salary. The Afghan authorities have retained the work of women who cannot be replaced – for example, female urban toilets.
