SAMSUNG’s future smartphones will receive support for the ray trace function. This is reported by the publication GSM Arena.
According to the company in the Chinese social network Weibo, the future EXYNOS 2200 chip with AMD RDNA 2 graphics will support the ray trace feature. This technology for building the image of three-dimensional models allows you to achieve a better display of graphics in games. This option is available on game computers and new generation consoles.
The graphics processor will also support the shading at a variable speed, which allows it to display some objects with higher quality. However, the ray tracing requires large computing resources, so its activation in games requires hardware support.
Integrated RDNA 2 graphics is used in Radeon RX 6000 video cards, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S / X consoles, TESLA cars and other devices. It is expected that a new processor will have eight nuclei, and the graphics system is six computing blocks with 384 streaming processors. This chip may appear in SAMSUNG smartphones in 2022.
In February, insiders described that AMD will release graphic processors for Samsung smartphones. The chip will be focused on the games of the new generation, launched on the phones of the Korean manufacturer.
