Algeria President Abdelmagid Tebbung told why the Algerian authorities decided to withdraw the country’s ambassador from Paris. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to him, Algeria went for this step due to the “irresponsible” words of the French leader Emmanuel Macron in an interview with Le Monde that the “official history” of the North African country was supposedly “fully rewritten”. Tebbung also noted that the words of Macron insulted the memory of those who died during the colonial rule of France in Algeria. He explained that the Algerian authorities would not have interference in their internal affairs.
It is noted that earlier the Ambassador of France in Algeria was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country, and the head of the Algerian diplomission was recalled for consultation.
At the end of August, the head of the Algerian Foreign Ministry Rattan Lamamra said that Algeria breaks diplomatic relations with Morocco because of the “hostile actions” of the latter. “Throughout history, from the moment of independence, Morocco made low-lying actions in relation to our country,” the diplomat said. According to Lamamra, the kingdom has repeatedly collaborated with terrorist groups to undermine the safety of the Algerian side
