The German energy company Uniper, serving a Gazprom partner, does not count on the rapid certification of the North Stream-2 gas pipeline. This was stated by Chairman of the Board of Claus Dieter Mabach, writes HandelsBlatt.
“The certification of the gas pipeline will occur in any case so late that this pipeline will not help us in this winter,” he said. In addition, Mabach emphasized that Gazprom performs all contracts that are concluded with it. At the same time, he refused to express his opinion about whether Russia delivered enough gas to the EU in accordance with his capabilities or simply does not want to allocate additional volumes.
Change of power in Germany and the formation of the ruling coalition after the elections in the Bundestag is not able to influence the certification deadlines for the North Stream-2 gas pipeline, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said.
According to the representative of the Kremlin, all departments in Germany continue to work, including those that are responsible for the certification of the gas pipeline. On September 10, the head of Gazprom Alexey Miller reported on the end of the construction of “Northern Flow-2”. The capacity of the gas pipeline will be 55 billion cubic meters per year.
