Release framework Qt 6.2

Qt Company Posted Framework Release QT 6.2 , in which work on stabilization and increasing functionality of the Qt 6 branch is provided. In QT 6.2, support for Windows 10 platforms, MacOS 10.14+, Linux (Ubuntu 20.04+ , CentOS 8.1+, OpenSUSE 15.1+), iOS 13+, Android (API 23+), WebOS, Integrity and QNX. The source texts of the QT components are supplied under LGPLV3 and GPLV2 licenses. QT 6.2 received the status of LTS-release, within which the update users will be formed for three years (for the remaining updates will be published six months before the formation of another significant issue).

Qt 6.2 branch is marked as reached parity with Qt 5.15 in terms of modules and suitable for migration with QT 5 most users. Key improvements in Qt 6.2 mainly relate to the inclusion in the modules that were available in Qt 5.15, but were not ready for inclusion in the issues Qt 6.0 and 6.1. Changes in QT 6.2 :

  • in Qt Quick 3D Added optimized Rendering mode “Instanced Rendering”, allowing you to draw several instances of one object with different transformations at once. Added API 3D Particles for adding effects to the 3D scene effects formed by the large accumulation of particles (smoke, fog, etc.). The possibility of creating Qt Quick Input events for 2D elements embedded in 3D scenes and textures. Added API to determine the intersection of models with a beam emanating from an arbitrary point on stage.
