China asked Russia to significantly increase electricity supplies

The Chinese side asked Russian “Inter RAO” to increase the export of electricity in the PRC due to the deficit, writes RIA Novosti with reference to the company.

Currently, Inter RAO studies the technical possibility of significant supply growth, the volumes will be determined in the hourly mode depending on the demand. The company stressed that the growth of supplies to China leads to a decrease in electricity prices for the industry of the Far East due to the peculiarities of the regulation of the margin of exporter. Inter Rao is the only operator of export and import of electricity in Russia.

The serious energy crisis undermines the prospects for the growth of China’s production, which can provoke a new splash of prices for products around the world. Some enterprises of the PRC were forced to suspend or reduce production to save electricity.

Extreme weather conditions, growing demand and strict coal restrictions led China to a catastrophic lack of electricity. Related to these facilities in production and supply chain can jeopardize the world economy.
