Suffering from deficit British promised to return gasoline

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson promised the weakening of the fuel crisis in the country. According to Bloomberg, the politician stated that gasoline supplies are stabilized. This is evidenced by official data, according to which, less refueling stations complain about the lack of fuel.

Fuel interruptions are caused by the deficit of truckers who could not return to the UK due to the coniferous restrictions and visa difficulties after brekes. Against the backdrop of panic messages in the media, the British lined up in line before refueling, many of which were left by gasoline.

“The situation is stabilized at the gas station, so people should be calm and do their own business as usual,” said Johnson. The official data of the British Association of Retail Merchants Petrol confirm the words of the Prime Minister. The number of fuel suffering from the lack of gas stake in three days decreased by 13 percentage points – from 50 percent to 37 percent. However, many objects still lack gasoline, and drivers are still built in line.

The oil giant BP proposed a simple way out of the crisis situation – to issue more visas to foreign drivers to fill the deficit of truckers. At the same time, Johnson did not suit this option. “I do not think that people in the country want to resolve all our problems again with the help of uncontrolled immigration,” the Prime Minister said. He stressed that such a method will lead to a decrease in wages and low qualifications of employees in the market. The government binds the supply crisis not with brexite, but with the restoration of the economy after a pandemic, which led to a sharp increase in demand.

Nevertheless, the authorities still decided to issue five thousand short-term visas for truckers before Christmas to avoid the lack of fuel and products on the eve of the New Year holidays. However, the effectiveness of such a measure remains in question, since drivers from Eastern Europe, which are the main resource of labor, declared the reluctance to return to work in Britain. Truckers demand more long-term prospects and do not want to encounter problems again.
