Remotely managed combat module “Narval” was the test. Installation with a large-caliber machine gun will be a new armament of ships, which will be protected by the coast of Russia. The module was developed by NGOs “Electromashashin” (included in the “Uralvagonzavod” concern “Rostech”). Head of the NGO “Elektromash” noted that the “narrowing” successfully passed the test. “Our product has surpassed competitors – fired better, it is cheaper and, most importantly, easier to manage,” added Afanasyev.
The combat module is designed to be installed on a promising boat, which will be protected by the Russian coast. The general director of the enterprise noted that foreign customers became interested in the module. Initially, the development was intended for the needs of the Navy of Russia.
Remotely managed ship module “Narval” received a machine gun “Cord” of a caliber of 12.7 millimeters. The operator can be observed by the target of the camera and the thermal imager. Also, the module is equipped with a laser rangefinder and a target accompaniment. At the request of the customer “Narval” can add a circular review system, a radar and means of protection against high-precision weapons.
