Apple planned to release the iPod multimedia player with titanium housing. This in its Twitter said the Italian gadget collector Julio Zompeetti (Giulio Zompetti).
Zompetti demonstrated photographs of the prototype of the first generation iPod Touch. The opened model had a Preevt A1 identifier and received a housing from titanium. As a result, the production of Preevt C3 was passed into production, which is characterized by a stainless steel body with polishing.
Judging by the photographs of the two versions, the prototype has a more matte texture of the case, while the housing of the standard player has a glossy texture. Zompetty believes that titanium iPod is a stronger and less susceptible to scratches and damage, while the glossy player collects scratches faster.
In this case, structurally both prototypes are no different from each other. The reasons for which Apple abandoned the titanium iPod Touch housing is not communicated.
Ipod Touch portable multimedia player line began with the first generation model, represented on September 13, 2007. At the moment, the series has seven generations, the representative of the latter was released in May 2019.
In the early 2021, the collector Julio Zompetty published photos of the prototype iPhone 12 Pro. The disclosed smartphone does not have certification engraving on the back panel and side frame and runs under the control of an alternative operating system Switchboard.
