Russia: developed a new drone scout “Merlin-BP”

Research Institute of Modern Telecommunication Technologies has developed a new military intelligence unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) “Merlin-BP”. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

From the presentation of the project it follows that the new Russian drone is able to work at an altitude of up to five kilometers. “Designed for air monitoring for a long time (up to 10 hours) in automatic and semi-automatic modes at altitudes up to 5,000 meters,” is indicated in the project presentation.

The maximum mass of the payload “Merlin” is up to 6.5 kilograms. The device is capable of carrying various options for optical location stations, both in the visible and infrared bands.

In 2019, “Kalashnikov” presented a shock barragging drone-kamikadze “Zala Lancet”. This was announced by the general director of the concern Vladimir Dmitriev. Speaking at the presentation of the concern on the eve of the Forum “Army 2019”, he explained that the product was developed taking into account the requests of customers. According to him, one of the key requirements is that Drone does not lose video contact with the operator to the target defeat.
