Lukashenko was afraid for fate of illegal immigrants on border with EU

illegal migrants at the borders of Belarus and the European Union countries (EU) will experience strong suffering after the onset of cold weather, they risk frozen and die. Such concerns about the fate of refugees expressed the President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko, writes “Sputnik Belarus.”

Politician called the current situation with a humanitarian catastrophe, noting that Minsk is obliged to take at least some measures to save migrants. “Well, yes, dressed, they fed them, the firewood took them there, some tents were handed over to them. But in the winter they will frozen,” said Lukashenko.

He also suggested that the Baltic countries have announced a state of emergency near their frontiers in order to conceal information about their death. “So that no one knows how people die there,” the head of state was frightened.

On September 20, Polish authorities stated that the bodies of three migrants were found not far from the border with Belorussia, including women. The cause of death is shown exhaustion and supercooling.

The migration crisis at the borders of Belarus and the European Union began at the end of May. Large groups of illegal migrants from Africa and the Middle East began to storm the boundaries of Lithuania, Poland and Latvia in the hope of obtaining refuge in the European Union. It is assumed that the Belarusian authorities use the National Tour Operator “Centerkurort” to cross the migrants to the EU borders and earn it.
