Kaliningrad Holding “Avtotor” plans to establish a vehicle production with electric and gas engines by 2024. Cars will be focused on low-income Russians. The price of the electric frame will be up to 1.5 million rubles, writes TASS.
However, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company Valery Gorbunov said that this is not the final cost. The price will depend on a number of factors (for example, from the volume of production and the terms of supply of components). The reserve of the course of the first models will be 180 kilometers.
“We are working on design and technological changes today, which will allow to produce an upgraded version of this model, including with a gas and electric motor, and increase the stroke of up to 400 kilometers,” the humpback emphasized. “Avtotor” intends to create production facilities for the annual release of five thousand electric vehicles, he revealed the company’s plans.
In 2023, the holding can release an experimental batch of 200 electric vehicles, but for this it is necessary to undergo certification. The company is considering cooperation with Kia, Hyundai and BMW. Also “Avtotor” plans to produce cars on hydrogen with foreign and Russian partners.
Now in Russia, electric cars officially sell several companies. Jaguar I-Pace and Audi E-Tron electric cars start from 5.9 million and 6.5 million rubles, respectively, the cheapest TESLA (Model 3) costs from 4.6 million rubles.
