EU called on Belgrade and Pristina to peaceful settlement of conflict in Kosovo

Head of the European Council Charles Michelle called on Belgrade and Protina to take measures to deoxize the conflict in Kosovo and come to his peace settlement. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

So, in the EU called the parties to the conflict in Kosovo “to bring special forces of the police and disassemble the barricades,” as well as start a dialogue under the auspices of the Special Representative of Belgrade talks and Pristina Miroslav Laichaka.

On September 23, Kosovo special forces officers beat three Serbs on the “Brunik” checkpoint. It is reported that men drove to chop firewood when their car stopped the Kosovo police. The victims were taken to the hospital, one of the Serbs told that she did not understand why such measures were applied to them.

Before that, the authorities in Belgrade demanded from Kosovo police to leave the border with Serbia. The Serbian side noted that Kosovoians do not fulfill the conditions of the peace agreement. Serbia called on the European Union to resolve this conflict.

Earlier, Kosovo police and special forces under the cover of snipers occupied border crossings “Yarin” and “Brunik” in the north of Kosovo. At the same time, Pristina issued a decree, according to which all cars entering the self-proclaimed republic should change their numbers to Kosovo. Almost immediately, the border crossings were gathered by peaceful protests of Serbs. In response, Kosovo’s special forces applied tear gas, but completely dispersed the demonstrators failed.
