Unlike other FreeBSD desktop builds, MidnightBSD was originally developed as FREEBSD 6.1-beta fork, which in 2011 was synchronized with the FreeBSD 7 code base and subsequently imagined many possibilities from the FreeBSD branches 9, 10. and 11.
