President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko arrived with a private visit to Sochi. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“[Lukashenko] flew to relax in the holiday home, which he uses as his residence,” said the source of the agency.
Earlier it was reported that the Belarusian leader promised not to keep power with “messenger hands.” He noted that the referendum on changes to the Constitution will be held, as was planned. At the same time, “the vertical authorities will have, of course, it is not easy,” because it will be necessary to “convince people.”
The President of Belarus announced the need to change the Constitution against the background of protests that broke out in the country after the presidential election in 2020. He assured that after the adoption of a new fundamental law, the country will leave his post. “With the new constitution, I will not work with you the president,” said Lukashenko.
