Taliban asked Russia to help in fight against drugs

Taliban movement (a terrorist organization prohibited in the Russian Federation) asked Russia to help eliminate all drug trains. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Culture and Information of the Interim Government of Afghanistan Zabilella Mujahid, RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, the new Afghan authorities seek to stop smuggling drugs and count on the help of Moscow in this matter, since peace and stability in the region also in the interests of Russia. The speaker also noted that the cultivation of drug-containing plants in the country is a serious problem, and it is important that the new authorities can offer farmers alternative.

Earlier in the UN, the Taliban was stated that the Taliban received hundreds of millions of dollars from drug trafficking and from other illegal sources before seized Afghanistan.
