Taliban urged Russia to become an intermediary between UN and Afghanistan

The representative of the Taliban (a terrorist organization prohibited in the Russian Federation) and the Deputy Minister of Information and Culture of the Interim Government of Afghanistan Zabilel Mujahid called on Russia to become a mediator between the country and the UN. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

According to Mujahid, Russia can be a mediator between the Afghan side and the world community, among other things, on the issue of decline in sanitation pressure. “We ask her [Russia] to assist in a peaceful settlement in the region and in Afghanistan in particular, as well as in the process of restoring our country,” said Mujahid. According to him, the New Afghan government is counting on “tangible positive results” for Kabul at the upcoming UN Security Council meetings.

Earlier, Zabilella Mujahid said that the requirements that the international community nominates to the New Afghan government is largely overestimated and violated international legislation. In addition, the Taliban refused to appoint new ambassadors in those countries that did not declare the recognition of the new government.
